Introduction to YouTrainOnline.com

Hi, I'm Laura, the owner of YouTrainOnline.com

I was first introduced to alternatives to traditional classroom learning through correspondence courses while in the Coast Guard. I would receive my study guides through the mail, study every spare moment I had and then test through a proctor and wait to get my results.

As a young married couple, my husband and I worked opposite shifts to save on childcare costs. A relative who was an owner/broker of a real estate company suggested I get my real estate license and start working for myself; setting my own business hours. She had just the solution, The Real Estate School which offered--a correspondence course. I was all ready familiar with this kind of learning and was able to cruise through the courses, took the state exam for my real estate license and passed it the 1st time!

My next foray into learning outside the old brick and mortar educational institute was attending a community college that was offering a huge majority of their classes online. They are fully accredited, transferable, and definitely not any easier to take/pass than if I'd sat in the classroom with the instructor. In fact, I'd say I probably spent more time studying, researching and learning with my online courses than I did with face-to-face courses because I did not have any bell telling me it was time to "stop" and move along to my next class! I'd become so interested in what I was learning that it was hard to quit.

My husband had a little different experience obtaining his education. He attended college full time to become a certified HVACR technician. Once he began working in the field, he had to earn Continuing Education credits and obtain his low-voltage electrical license. He did this by going to classes at night, after an often 10-12 hour work day. It made for really long, hard days and a lot of extra travel getting to class clear across town.

We're both really excited to be able to bring online Continuing Education, Safety, OSHA and Green Building courses to working individuals because we understand exactly what it's like to be working full time, trying to fit in time for continuing education while still trying to have time with family and friends! We understand because we live it, we do it because we know that keeping up with our educational needs/credits/licensing is what is required to do our jobs.

Below is a link to a Demo for OSHA safety courses. Go ahead, give it a spin!

  2. Online training is great for people who work and don't have time to attend traditional classroom learning.
