Alabama: Beginning in the calendar year 2001, all certified contractors shall be required to acquire eight credit hours of continuing education over a two-year period. The Board may require certified contractors to submit to the Board proof of compliance with the continuing education requirement on an annual basis to allow the Board to maintain its records regarding continuing education attendance of each certified contractor.

Arizona: The Registrar of Contractor's does not require any continuing education for licenses at this time. You may recieve credit for technical training, apprenticeship training or education which may be substitured for a protion of the required four years of practical experience. Colorado: Colorado does not have any contractor continuing education requirements. No state license is requried for General Contractors. Renewal for electrical contractors is February 28th of odd years; plumbing contractor renewals occur August 31st of odd years. Florida: The State of Florida requires fourteen hours board-approved continuing education each biennium prior to the renewal period for both certified and registered contractors. "At least one hour must deal with workplace safety, one hour on the subject of worker's compensation, one hour on the subject of business practices and one hour on Florida Building Code advanced modules." A person who holds more than one certificate or registration issued by the board is required to complete the continuing education requirements only once during each biennial certification renewal period and only once during each biennial registration period.

Texas: Texas Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors: All Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors are required to take 8 hrs of TDLR approved continuing education every year. Of those, 2 hrs must be in Texas Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Laws. Texas Auctioneers: For holders of Auctioneer and Associate Auctioneer licenses expiring on or after January 1, 2006, six hours of TDLR approved continuing education courses will be required to renew that license. Two of these hours must be in instruction in laws and rules that regulate the conduct of auctioneers and associate auctioneers. The other four hours must be courses taken in one or more of the following subjects: - Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1802, Auctioneers.
- Title 16, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 67, Auctioneers Administrative Rules.
- Other laws and rules that regulate the conduct of auctioneers and associate auctioneers.
- Auction-related laws, such as the Uniform commercial code - Sales, Title 1, Chapter 2, Texas Business and Commerce Code 2.328 and the Deceptive Trade Practices - Consumer Protection Act, Chapter 17, Subchapter E, Texas Business and Commerce Code.
- Business practices, such as insurance, auction ethics, contracts, maintenance of trust accounts, and marketing.
